Kingston is rich with history and tradition. Kingston was Canada's first capital city and held that title from 1841 to 1844. Kingston is home to one of Canada's oldest and most prestigious university's, Queen's University, the Royal Military College of Canada and Canada's oldest daily newspaper, the Kingston Whig Standard.
Kingston is also known as the fresh water capital of North America as it is located where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River. It has become a popular site for sailing, diving and other water activities.
